A monthly series featuring interviews with our beautiful Brides who'll be speaking about Bridesmaids, their Wedding Day, and realistic achievable budgets. This month - Natasha and Brad.....
Why did you choose your Bridesmaids?
I chose my 3 sisters and two of my best friends. I wanted to have my nieces as flower girls too!
How many did you have?
5 & 4 flower girls
What was your budget for the dresses?
Ideally between £100 - £150 per dress.
Why did you choose your colour theme?
Brad and I had always wanted Navy especially as we had chosen bright orange flowers, the colours go so well with each other!
How did you decide on style?
I wanted to pick a dress that all my bridesmaids would feel comfortable in. The dress flattered each one of them and looked amazing!
Did you let your Bridesmaids choose their dresses?
Yes, I showed them what type of style we wanted and let them decide on the final dress. After all, they were the ones wearing them.
How did your husband propose?
Brad took me to our favourite restaurant, Gauchos overlooking Tower Bridge. It was our 7 - year anniversary and he proposed to me after we had eaten dinner. It was very romantic.
How long were you engaged for?
We were engaged for just over a year. We always knew we didn’t want a long engagement.
Where did you get married and why did you choose that venue?
We chose the Gardens in Yalding. It was the first venue we both visited as a couple and we fell in love with it. We had never seen the venue previously; but it ticked all our boxes and we are so glad we picked it! We had always planned to get married in Mexico, but when it came down to it, we realised it was too much to ask of everyone. Besides, we were so lucky with the weather on the day - it was like being abroad anyway!
Is there anything that you now consider to be an unnecessary expense?
During the planning process, you overthink everything. We chose not to do wedding favours as we believed this to be an unnecessary expense. Instead, we hired a magician for a few hours which went down very well!
What would you have changed if you could?
Nothing. It was everything we could have dreamt it to be.
Did anything go wrong?
What was the funniest/best part of the day?
During the ceremony itself, I couldn’t say the vows (my mind just went) it was very funny. The best part of the day was standing at the end of the aisle with my husband and to see our family and friends together in one place to celebrate our special day.
What advice would you give for wedding planning?
Don’t think of others, think of yourselves. The day is all about you and so much time is wasted worrying about other people, do everything how you want it! I spent so much time worrying about things which looking back was completely unnecessary! Just enjoy every moment as it is over so quickly.
Thank you for everything! You made the whole process of purchasing the dresses so easy and both an absolute pleasure to work with. I would recommend the Fairy Godmother’s to anyone planning a wedding or special event and loved that Rosie was able to come to the venue on the day to dress the girls! It was lovely to have her there whilst prepping for the day even on her own Wedding Anniversary! You guys are great xxx
